About Origin Leaf

ORIGIN LEAF was founded in 1991, the same year Georgia regained its independence. For the country, it was a moment of reclaiming land, agriculture, and identity after decades of centralized control. For us, it marked the beginning of a long-term commitment—to protect tea in its most original form. During the Soviet era, Georgia was designated as the primary tea-producing region of the Union, chosen for its mountains, climate, and exceptional water resources. After independence, industrial systems disappeared almost overnight. What remained was the land—and the farmers who chose to stay with it. Without machinery, without shortcuts, tea cultivation returned to a slower, more deliberate pace. ORIGIN LEAF grew out of this return to scale, patience, and respect for origin.Read their story
