About JK Homewares

We are a husband and wife design team born & bred in Brooklyn, NY. Joshua graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and spent many years honing his design skills creating and building sets for the television and film industry. While continuing her fine art studies as a hobby, Kristen earned a degree in Forensic Psychology and focused her professional career on child abuse prevention and education. Inspired by their desire for a change of scenery and the beauty of the Berkshires landscape they relocated to Great Barrington, MA and established their custom furniture and design company in 2004. After enjoying many years of focusing solely on furniture making we were inspired to create a collection of functional and unique wooden homewares to complement our furniture designs. Working side by side in our Great Barrington, MA studio, using a well-seasoned artistic eye, we create functional homewares that add character and beauty to any home. Our collections are made up of one of a kind heirloom quality cutting, cheese and serving boards, often lauded for their organic beauty and custom non-toxic finishes. Read their story
