About Andrea Morris Studio

Hello! My name is Andrea Morris, and I am an artist based in Portland, OR. On an artist retreat in 2024, I learned the linocut process and fell completely in love with the analog nature of this process. Although my background is in photography, I was immediately drawn to the fact that linocut starts at my favorite spot - my sketch book. Each design begins as a sketch with a cup of coffee on my porch or with a glass of wine by the fire. The sketches are later traced onto a rubber carving block, hand stamped for composition, and then scanned into my computer for reproduction. Within my work, you will find an affinity for bold colors, simple patterns, and imperfection. Led by curiosity and passion, I love to find inspiration in the simple moments in life such as seeing veggies at the grocery store or floral color palettes on a run. Read their story
