Our story began with a moment that every parent dreads—a deep cut on a child’s skin. After Jihye’s young daughter was injured, the search for a healing solution led her to something unexpected: hydrocolloid bandages recommended by local moms in Korea. The results were astonishing. The bandage didn’t just protect the wound; it helped to heal faster, gently, and without leaving a scar. That simple experience opened our eyes to a category of care that was quietly powerful, deeply effective, and, somehow, still underappreciated in the U.S. Together, as friends and co-founders—Jihye, a business strategist, and Jimin, a designer—we created SUPERBAND by MakeItSkin. We believe wound care should be as thoughtful and elevated as skincare. Our mission is to bring the science of moist healing and the quality of Korean hydrocolloids to people everywhere.
