On October 10, 1847, 18 politicians came together at the Gasthof Zum Halben Mond in Heppenheim to press ahead with all determination the creation of a German nation state and the granting of civil rights. Today we know that this conspiracy circle was a pioneer of the March Revolution and the Frankfurt Assembly. We can therefore proudly say that the foundation stone of freedom was laid in the Heppenheimer Gasthof Zum Halber Mond, today's home of the spirits forge. This revolutionary idea inspired us to create the Whisky Freiheit 1848 as a tribute to this time. Whisky has therefore been successfully distilled in Heppenheim since 2013.
