Kaveri Coffee Works is the first woman-owned coffee company in the Bay Area specializing in high quality Indian coffee. Based in Berkeley, owner and roaster Tanya Rao, carefully selects coffee from farms across India and delicately roasts them in small batches to showcase the distinctive flavors and characteristics of the origin. Both her father and grandfather operated a coffee business in India beginning in 1941, and Tanya is proud to have created a business reflecting their coffee legacy and family traditions here in the U.S. Indian coffee beans are prized for their rich, smooth, low acidity taste profile. Kaveri Coffee is named for the river that feeds the traditional coffee growing regions of Southern Indian. Here coffee is grown in lush forests amongst fruits, flowers, and spices.
