About Nordur Salt

Our mission: to make the best sea salt flakes in the world. This is our commitment to ourselves and to our surrounding community. We aim to reach this goal through a combination of quality, sustainability and design. Our unique geothermal production method was first tried in 1753 and has since been carefully preserved in Iceland. Harvested from the pristine waters of the northwest fjords in Icelandic waters, with their extensive algal forests, seaweed and unique biodiversity, Nordur Salt is rich in trace minerals and low in sodium. The pure, savory and mystical Arctic seawater is pumped into open pans where it is slowly heated with water from natural hot springs. This sustainable process leaves behind no carbon dioxide, only fresh, crunchy flakes of Nordur Sea Salt. Nordur Salt is imported from Iceland and ready to be shipped anywhere in the United States and Canada, from our warehouse in Texas.
