About Lubembo Honey

Our honey is sourced from farmers in various regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Hence why its so dark in colour, organic, and not artificially processed. This is a unique product because it comes from natural, old hives. Just like wine, the older the hive, the more complex the honey. Lubembo is a Forest honey, where bees primarily source the sugar from trees, which leads to much more developed, distinctive flavors. In fact, our bees’ primary sugar source is eucalyptus, which gives Lubembo a slightly minty taste. Forest honey also shines for its nutritional properties and cosmetic uses as it is rich in antioxidants that benefit us inside and out. Read their story
