As a passionate dog parent, I know firsthand the deep bond we share with our furry companions. It’s more than just love; it’s about providing them with comfort, security, and a place where they feel truly at home - where they feel truly loved. That’s why I founded Sleepy Hippo – to share the premium pet beds that I lovingly crafted for my own family with pet parents everywhere. My journey began with my beloved dog, Beetle. When Beetle suffered a neurological injury that led to partial incontinence, my heart broke. I tried using a belly band to manage his condition, but I constantly worried about accidents during the night. Most of all, I didn’t want Beetle to feel distant or rejected during such a challenging time. Our bond meant everything to me, and I knew that being close to him, especially at night, was crucial for both of us. But the market didn’t have what we needed. So, I took matters into my own hands and created a bed that was not only functional but kept Beetle right by my side. Seeing him rest peacefully, with that familiar look of contentment and security, filled me with such relief. That’s when I knew – this wasn’t just a solution for Beetle.
