Coming from a family of olive growers and natural soap makers for several generations, Imed, the founder of Olivia Cosmétique, had never been around people suffering from skin conditions. When he began working as a chemist in a petrochemical laboratory in Tunisia, he noticed that many of his colleagues were developing severe skin diseases, despite using protective equipment. One of his colleagues confided in him that he had eczema on almost every part of his body. As a solution, he was advised to use a natural olive oil-based soap before and after medical treatment, since his skin could no longer tolerate the chemical ingredients found in industrial soaps. This experience sparked Imed’s desire to make a difference. In 2008, he decided to learn the craft of natural soap making, following in the footsteps of his ancestors. In 2017, he founded Biocos Canada in Montreal — the parent company of Olivia Cosmétique. His company’s mission is to offer natural and eco-responsible products that promote better health and well-being for humans and their four-legged companions. Olivia Cosmétique’s products are 100% natural, hypoallergenic, and not tested on animals. They are packaged in recyclable and eco-friendly containers.Read their story
