About Embutidos Hortanco

We are EMBUTIDOS HORTANCO, a family business producing artisanal sausages located in Tafalla, which holds the Alimentos Artesanos de Navarra and REYNO GOURMET seals. We have been making sausages for over 80 years. Currently, Alberto Sarnago and Javier Sarnago are the 3rd and 4th generation of the family developing the production of artisanal sausages. In the late 1970s, the idea arose to create a small sausage factory to serve the Pamplona region. We began producing the first cured sausages, cular chorizo, and sarta chorizo in an artisanal way, which we supplied to various butcher shops in Pamplona. In 2000, we decided to open a new line of fresh products such as chistorra, birica-type choricillos, and fresh sausages. This allowed us not only to offer a new range of products to our customers but also to enter the hospitality market, which demanded professionals who could offer an artisanal product with great taste and quality. In 2020, we inaugurated new facilities in the Polígono Industrial de la Nava with the aim of providing greater production capacity to the company as well as diversifying the range of products and formats. Chistorra is the star product, and we are part of the new IGP CHISTORRA DE NAVARRA.
