Committed to seeking out scientific wisdom and inspired by the rise of the global youth climate movement, Juliet Whitsett's perspectives as mother, cancer survivor and global citizen compel her to use her skills to reflect upon and represent some of our rarest and most at-risk species- those who obviously have no means of advocating for themselves.⁠ In doing this work, she draws on her background not only as an artist, but also as an environmental and arts educator with a passion for finding the intersection of science, community and creativity. Create. Connection. Her current series, Threatened Texas,⁠ addresses Threatened, Endangered and Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN) in Texas. She samples colors from actual images of species and to create original digitally-based art inspired by their unique palettes. 5% of the profits from this series enthusiastically goes to help Threatened & Endangered Species.Read their story
