For Bähko’s founder Douglas Reynolds, this is personal. Providing quality sunglasses that protect your eyes and stand up to the rigors of outdoor life, is nothing short of a passion. In 2005, Douglas was diagnosed with a hereditary degenerative eyesight disease. At the same time, he found out he suffered retinal sun scarring from a life of playing and working outside without proper protection from the sun’s harsh rays. Needless to say, eye protection and lens technology became very important to him and was the inspiration for Bähko Eyewear™. Douglas also knows a thing or two about the need for sunglasses that can hold up under arduous conditions. As he describes it, “outdoor sports have driven my life.” These experiences led him to seek out quality products that could keep up with his fast paced, adventure seeking style.
