When coffee first came to Canada it arrived on wooden sailing ships, with the warm ocean air infusing the beans creating a wonderful tasting coffee. We heard a story describing how when they switched to the steel hulled ships, people wanted their old coffee back. Saltwinds co-founder, chemist and roastmaster Laura decided to test to see if this story was true, and so she started testing different ways of ocean air infusing and roasting coffee until she found a combination that produced truely delicious coffee. We began selling our ocean air coffee at the local farm market and literally could not roast enough to keep it on the shelves. We have since set up a larger roaster and production facility and are bringing this delicious coffee to the world.
