Omar, born in Bologna, grew up surrounded by the scent of fine leather. Today, he brings that heritage to his studio in Plovdiv—one of the world’s oldest cities—where he oversees quality for global luxury brands. Teo, a Bulgarian craftsman with over 15 years of experience in high-end leatherwork, carries on a family legacy of accessory production spanning generations. Inspired by Tino & Lucky The spark for BECHIVA came from a personal need. When Teo welcomed Tino, his first Chihuahua, he struggled to find accessories that matched high price points with actual quality. The arrival of Lucky (a companion for Tino) turned a frustration into a vision. We spent months selecting the softest Italian leathers and lightweight, durable metal hardware. Through daily walks and rigorous testing, we refined every stitch until we reached perfection. BECHIVA officially stands for the fusion of Italian elegance and Bulgarian persistence.
