Everything begins in 1950 At 6 years old, Umberto Pezzella was already working as a little helper in a shoe factory, and as a teenager, he started the trade of "sole milling." By purchasing some machines on installment, he founded a small workshop with his wife in 1974. Like Umberto, Raffaella also worked 16 hours a day, and soon, from their hard work, a small production of high-quality women's shoes was born. In the 1980s, the Pezzella enterprise experienced significant growth, becoming a small workshop equipped with a conveyor belt where various skills were employed. In 1998, after more than twenty years of history, that small workshop became a business entity taken over by Umberto's sons: Tamino and Modestino, under Raffaela's guidance. Keeping up with the times while always maintaining its artisanal tradition, today Calzaturificio Fratelli Pezzella produces shoes with the highest quality standards, adhering to all the strict criteria of 100% Made in Italy and exporting its creations to almost the entire world. Among personalized studs, exclusive accessories, and highly refined processes, Metisse shoes shape their strong personality by combining edgy and striking design, precious materials like Italian leather with natural finishes, and traditional Italian craftsmanship. Embroidery, laser cuts, stones, pearls, and abrasions are not lacking to complete a new taste that seems to be the natural response.
