About Derby Clothing Company

Derby Clothing Company was originally created to offer affordable, high end breeches to all riders. As an adult amateur, I was struggling to find quality breeches within my price point for showing and hacking. I found myself hunting sales and consistently being disappointed, not being able to find my size or the right fit. At the time, I was down to one horse “Little Brown Derby” that I adopted from New Stride in 2017. At the time of Kato’s adoption, I found myself struggling to enjoy the sport. Originally, I adopted him as a trail mount for my family and myself to enjoy. Quickly, I fell in love with his thoroughbred try and began taking the odd lesson again. By 2019, we had a solid show record in the low level jumpers on and off the island. During 2019, I tested out many different breech designs and fabrics. By the time we launched in 2020, I knew Kato would be the perfect mascot to the company; naming it Derby Clothing Company in his honour. Since then, we have started to expand into high end breech designs to fit the demand for breeches in a variety of price points. Read their story
