Jessica Yelley is a lifelong sewist who found her place in bag making. After spending time in the leather industry and seeing the waste and harmful environmental impact, Jess wanted to find a better way. A high demand for cowhide leather products leads to more chemicals polluting the land, air and water where leather tanning takes place. CACTA products are made from cactus leather, a vegan alternative that comes from prickly pear cactus. Jess created CACTA as a new way to approach timeless, durable leather products with an earth friendly approach. Cactus leather saves 18,462% greenhouse gas emissions and 164,650% of water compared to animal leather. It is PVC free, durable and the products Jess makes are built to last.Read their story
