Portus & Navis was founded on the desire to maximize the small but significant moments in life. For John Jensen, these moments were best spent on his channel boat where he would spend his summer weekends setting off with his family and friends. Having a glass of wine or a beer with good company; while taking-in the lakeside views was his cherished moment. These moments; however, could sometimes be spoiled by some minor mishaps. A boat would pass by and ripple out a bow wave towards their boat. If John or his guests weren't careful, they would end up spilling their drink. Other times there just wasn't enough cup holders for everyone onboard. In addition there wasn't any good wine glass holding solutions available on the market for boaters. He and his guest often settled for wine out of a paper cup or in a can- which for John's wife was a disaster and a completely unauthentic way to enjoy a glass of Rose'. Being an Engineer, John knew there had to be a better solution. The solution had two: solve the problem of spillage - It had to accommodate multiple types of beverage containers; including wine glasses. - It should expand the number of available cup holder options on the boat without having to drill more cup holder holes. - It needed to be able to have a bottle holding solution. And due to the limited space onboard; it had to be space conscious, portable, and storable. After a year and half of development John's solution, our flagship product became WORSE.
