While on a ski trip, our founder used the soap at the local hotel. The windburn that comes with a serious day of skiing fresh powder was in full force and he was hopeful the cleansing bar made with 'moisturizing cream' would help. However, it actually exacerbated the problem since the brand name soap dried out his skin further. Doing some research he discovered that most major brands, and certainly all mass produced soaps, are more similar to detergents which are made with parabens, surfactants, and phthalates. On his mind he discovered the wonderful beauty and cosmetics which are made with Olive Oil while in Greece and set out to create a bar of soap that not only cleaned the skin, body, and hair, but also nourished it and supported healing. Furthermore, combining this with upcycled the coffee grounds from a local cafe strengthened the product to have a sustainable message and MuddWorks was born.Read their story
