About Coal Country Candles

We are Randy & Shannon. Coal Country Candles is our small, family owned and operated candle business located in southeastern Kentucky, the heart of coal country. Shannon's grandfather lost his life in the coal mines long before she was born, and her father worked in the coal industry most of his life. When we started our business, we wanted to honor the fact that coal mining is part of our heritage and we also wanted to offer soy candles to promote the use of more natural, cleaner burning candles and to support our soybean farmers here in Kentucky as we work to find ways to move our region forward economically after the decline of the coal industry. All of our candles and wax melts are hand-poured in micro batches using natural wax & high quality fragrance oils to ensure that our customers receive exceptional products help make their homes an inviting, cozy place to entertain friends & family, or to relax & unwind at the end of a long day. We strive to offer unique and regionally themed scents that set us apart from our competition. We also offer options for customization and private labeling for our wholesale customers upon request. In addition to our retail and wholesale programs, we also offer a fundraising program which allows us to give back to our community by helping students in our region pay for sports equipment, uniforms, class trips, or any other needs they may have.
