My name is Jill Louden and my passion is purses--the reversible kind! My story: I was going through a divorce and couldn't afford a new purse. After seeing a reversible belt, I came up with the reversible purse concept. At first my purses were made out of upholstery fabric--solids and any type of patterns and fabrics that I thought would look great on a purse. But then I came up with an idea while talking to a friend--why don't I upcycle purses out of concert t-shirts! I love music and this would be a great use to old t-shirts or even new ones. The Band Bags were born! Since there, there have been other products under the Switch Purse umbrella: Reversible Sling Bags, Clutch Purses, Reversible Bucket Bags and shirts that benefit cancer non-profits. I am a 8 year breast cancer survivor and wanted to give back. Therefore, 15% of every shirt sold is donated to the respective cancer non-profit. I also recently started to thrift jean jackets and give them a new life! Now I upcycle them by affixing and sewing band t-shirts on the back, as well as a handful of patches. Read their story
