It all began by a personal need ... At the beginning of 2020 and the explosion of the COVID 19 pandemic, I was faced with the need to find hand sanitizer that had unexpectedly become scarce as well as any sanitizing products. Suddenly, they were impossible to find. So I decided to embark on a quest to find an alternate means of sanitizing. In my research, I found a formula online and I was able to secure one bottle of alcohol to make a hand sanitizer spray that my family could use. To my surprise, a spark was ignited. In my initial search for the hand sanitizer formula, I recognized that I could make personal care items that would have a lesser impact on the environment and would be safer for personal use. This discovery became important when due to the stress of the COVID 19 restrictions, I started to experience severe skin breakouts on my face. This caused me to dig deeper about making products that I could use to repair my skin. So Gen 3 Skincare was born out of an essential need to address a critical challenge..... getting the skin on my face back to normal. What I found was that I could create personal and home care products whose carbon footprint would be reduced and whose ingredients could be responsibly and ethically sourced. Sustainability and ingredient sourcing became key factors as I began my formal education in product formulation through on-line courses.
