When my kids were toddlers, I wanted a better way to store all the different little toys that seemed to clutter up my living room and spread across the floor. I wanted to enjoy playing with my kids, not worry about the clean up process. My husband found a solution: a bin with an attached playmat that would contain toys during play and could be easily dumped back into the toy box, keeping things tidy again. This seemed like a terrific idea until we noticed all the design flaws: a slouchy bag with no lid, a poor connection from the box to play mat that was so narrow, it often spilled toys over the edge, and a plastic viewing panel that cracked instead of providing visibility. So we developed a better toy box: rigid cube with zipper enclosure, three-quarter attachment to the play mat, and the perfect size to fit in our existing cube shelves. It’s great in the house and kids can clean up after themselves quickly. Our toy box is small enough to fit travel trailer storage and is perfect for taking a few toys camping. We also included a slide pocket label so daycares and classrooms can organize storage. Grandparents love it because they can keep kids toys separate and accessible. These toy boxes are terrific for magnets, little cars, dolls, and blocks, but our family favourite is building blocks.
