Slip n' Stitch by Toni is an online shop that sells custom made-to-order knitted items. We aim to create items that will make you smile and form new memories! Everything is made with the intention of putting joy and happiness back into the world. At the end of January in 2020, right before the start of the pandemic, Toni's father suddenly passed away from cancer, approximately 4 weeks after his diagnosis. Incidentally, during January, Toni had started taking a casual knitting class that was being led by a friend of hers. Toni had learned how to knit and crochet a long time ago when she was a kid, but hadn't picked up knitting needles since. Her friend taught her the long tail cast-on, and slowly Toni remembered how to knit again. She was happy to do something that helped pass the time during this period of grief. Fast forward to the beginning of March: The U.S. officially declared COVID-19 a pandemic and all college students were kicked off campus. Toni had a lot more free time because of it, so she turned to YouTube tutorials to learn more knitting skills. She made a hat and scarf set, and then pushed herself to make a blanket--one of her professors was pregnant and about to have a baby in a pandemic, no less, so she could really use some love. when her professor received the blanket, she was overjoyed. That joyous feeling was one Toni didn't want to forget and wanted to keep creating; and thus, Slip n' Stitch by Toni was born.Read their story
