About The Shrubbery Soaps

The Shrubbery Soaps is a small family business based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. All our soaps are made using a traditional cold process method. We produce soaps that are passionately made by hand, with plant based ingredients, using natural colourants such as clays, organic botanicals and essential oils for fragrance. All our oils and butters are chosen for their properties to protect, nourish, and soften your skin, while giving you the peace of mind that they have come from a natural sustainable source. Our products are handcrafted in small batches, so each bar is unique in its appearance. At The Shrubbery Soaps, we try to protect the planet by not using plastic packaging, we prefer to use recycled paper and cardboard for our packaging. My name is Karen, I came to the U.K. from the Philippines to work as a Nurse in the NHS, where I met and married fellow nurse Hugh, and we have two beautiful children. We were initially based in London but then moved to Shrewsbury, Shropshire to make a family home. Soap making Journey Health and beauty has always been my passion since having severe eczema as a child. I was introduced to soap making by a friend and quickly discovered that making my own soap was preferable to the ones available in the shops. I opted to learn the cold process soap method, which was the traditional method of making soap. It gives me total control over the materials that are used and shows my creative side by producing soap bars from scratch.
