Wojtek and Jolanta Zurek are a woodworking husband-and-wife team based in San Jose, California. Wooden Contraptions grew at the intersection of their interests: they are inspired by spatial geometry, topology, and multi-part mechanisms. Their designs focus on wooden mathematical sculptures and finger labyrinths. Both of them work with wood. While Wojtek creates the original design, Jolanta meticulously hand finishes each sculpture, so it is both a delight to look at as well as to touch. After putting their sculptures out in the world, Wojtek and Jolanta quickly realized that apart from being beautiful and inspirational, these geometrical designs have a more profound impact on people's lives. That is when they created their collection of finger labyrinths to offer tools for meditation, mindfulness, and spiritual transformation.
