About KIRA

Founded in Paris in 2022 by Roman Akira, an interior designer of Japanese origin, Kira is a line of high-end French-Japanese lighting. Her first collection, a real favorite of Milano Design Week 2023, has already made an impression. Kira oscillates between tradition and modernity, lightness and depth, design and sculpture, to create objects full of meaning and meaning. Inspired by Japanese aesthetic vocabulary, the collection invites contemplation. During the design and production of the Kira collection, Roman draws on aesthetic vocabulary and his Japanese memories. Lamps are high-end pieces, but that doesn't necessarily mean ostentation. Something very refined can be expressed by a pure line, a deep color, or precisely diffused light. It is through this balance that the object takes on meaning and arouses emotion. Each piece in the collection has a particular meaning. Toshiro is the name of Roman's grandfather, and Yoshiko is the name of her grandmother. Toshiro follows massive and statuary curves, while Yoshiko evokes a different, more delicate and sensitive imagery. Roman transposes a very personal emotion into his work.
