About Willful Wildflowers

My name is Hillary, and I consider myself a maker. I grew up surrounded by wildflowers. My mom's business was to grow them, create natural healthy habitats, and help others do the same. My dad was a garden historian. I grew up running between greenhouses and hanging irrigation nozzles, hiding in gardens, and appreciating bugs. I named my daughter Flora to embody these carefree feelings and named my business to reflect how I want to raise her. At my core, I believe making allows us to create a world around us that we want to be surrounded in, instead of what the rest of the world wants to surround us in. My driving force to create has always been the curiosity and excitement of creating something new and learning the process along the way. As a new mom, my driving force has shifted, as all parents’ do, to creating a better world for my daughter. Read their story
