About Enitial Designs

my story. an independent clothing start-up based in Markham, Ontario. the first inception of the brand began in 2010, but wasn't realized until a decade later. it would have been very difficult for a broke college student to start a clothing brand. ​ my vision is to illuminate asian culture through clothing using various cultural references from the past and present. designs that would create interest in either learning about the culture, or visiting the country itself. ​ i would like to eventually develop a charity to support underdeveloped areas of specific asian countries. I've always had an interest in getting into things like Habitat for Humanity, or teach English in Asia, and I hope to revisit these ideas later and use this clothing brand as a vehicle to support the cause. ​ as the sole driver in this company, I've had to take on almost all the roles to keep this going. i hope what I'm doing can inspire others to see what can be accomplished if you just really get down and grind. i had no background in business, but I've spent 100s of hours listening to audiobooks, youtube videos, and reading to be more self-sufficient and develop that knowledge. ​ i hope over time the world can see and support what I'm trying to do, and it'll become more clear as things continue.
