About JOY The Plant Based Place

I started my plant based journey over 15 years ago. It started out of pure curiosity and my love for animals. I got a Vegetarian Starter Kit from PETA, it came with a couple DVDs and reading material. The visuals of what are done to animals were so gruesome and horrifying it left me in tears. Seeing the fear in their eyes and hearing the loud screams from the horrendous abuse left me shook. I vowed to not take part in a food system I no longer believed in. Compassion is what lead me to a plant based way of life and a healthy future made me stay. I was a self taught vegan cook because who else was going to cook me vegan meals over 15 years ago? Now a trained Vegan Chef I love to entertain, host and plan small to large events. I have curated going on 10 Annual Vegan Thanksgiving Dinner Parties and counting as well as other Plant Based Cooking Classes. As an advocate for minimally processed foods made with simple and whole ingredients, the goal for JOY The Plant Based Place is to make preparing food fun again.
