THE FUGGER DISTILLATES With Jakob Fugger the Rich (1459-1525), the Fugger company reached its first peak. Jakob succeeded in becoming the leading merchant and banker of his time by combining precious metals, goods and financing transactions. He is the most famous face of all Fuggers. His portrait with the gold cap, which Albrecht Dürer created, shows him at the height of his creative power. Building on this tradition, we produce our Fugger distillates in the heart of the Swabia region — in the Fugger market Babenhausen — using a centuries-old process. All distillates in the “Fugger” line are produced regionally, by hand and in small batches. The basis is the finest ingredients from the region: fully ripe plums, Williams-Christ pears, quinces from old orchards and particularly malty bock beer. We are convinced that only the combination of high-quality raw materials and artisanal distillation in a small-batch process produces spirits of the highest quality. Jakob Fugger the rich.
