About CURED

Cured luxury concrete goods are created by artist Zoe Scott in her rural zero waste home studio near Glasgow overlooking the Campsie Fells. Inspired by the rugged natural landscapes, she juxtaposes the wild and organic with industrial brutalism to create sustainable hand crafted homewares. Each design is first created in clay, the forms organically hand craved and built up before being glazed & fired. Ceramics are then cast creating bespoke moulds to product beautiful coloured concrete. Each casting is hand pigmented, spoon mixed then carefully poured into the mould. Only after 28 days are they cured and can be waxed then polished to a luxurious shine. Zoe’s creations are fundamentally functional, produced using one of the world’s oldest and most prevalent building materials. By taking this much-maligned material and elevates it to tactile, desirable luxury goods she creates a dialogue about intrinsic value and the essence of hand craft. Within Cured you can also fine the Worrywarts, a mindful collection of friends designed to take your worries away. Inspired by the Guatemalan worrydolls she received as a child comes a collection of stress relieving creatures handcrafted in Scotland by artist Zoe Scott. Cast in solid concrete, they are ultra tactile and fit perfectly into the palm of your hand like a special pebble from the beach. They are designed to be held, displayed and snuggle into pockets.Read their story
