How it began I started making soap out of curiosity. How can someone combine 2 simple ingredients (oil and lye) and make cleansing bars of soap? I'd read books, search online, researched suppliers for ingredients... and years later I finally attempted my first batch of soap. (It failed.) I tried again and again and eventually learned the tricks to making soap for our family. I spent more time adjusting the formulas and playing with cosmetic colorants (micas) until I found just the right combination of suds, scent and color!
