About Clean Rebellion

After struggling with eczema for years, founder Teju Owoye, figured out that the harsh daily cleansers that she used made her condition worse. She discovered good old-fashioned Castile soap as a mild, natural cleanser and fell in love with it. But, she still struggled with two problems. First, the mainstream Castile soap brands on the shelves dried out her skin. Second, many of the brands on shelves lacked the fun, floral, juicy scents that she craved. So, Owoye rolled up her sleeves and started making her own Castile soap in her kitchen in Santa Monica, CA. She had her friends and family try the soap, and they loved it! They loved that even after multiple washes using the soap, their skin didn’t feel dry and rough. From there, Owoye partnered with a lab in Portland, OR to launch Clean Rebellion. The brand’s signature Castile soap is made from 100% organic olive oil and plant-based essential oils, making it a mild, versatile daily cleanser. Owoye and her team are working on developing a full lineup of bath and body products consistent with the company’s commitment to developing cleansing products made from simple, organic, ingredients.Read their story
