WHERE IT BEGAN… In 1993 a small coffee shop in Pittsburgh’s East End with a small batch in-store roaster called The Coffee Tree Roasters was opened by Bill Swoope Jr along with his father. The team fondly known as “The Bill’s,” embarked on a journey that would blaze the trail for all who followed. Decades later, we’ve grown to include multiple retail and licensed locations, a full-service equipment company called Espresso Solutions, and the roastery and wholesale division you know as Iron Star Roasting Company. That small-batch roaster is still in use along side our Loring Smart Roaster, to remind us of our original passion for and commitment to innovation and great coffee. Operated by Jean Swoope, and now a Certified Woman Owned Small Business, we continue to provide the freshest and finest single farm sourced coffees from around the world. Read their story
