Linda Carmella Sibio is a nationally recognized interdisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, performance, and installation. Since the 1980s, she’s created visionary, emotionally charged art exploring mental health, madness, and the edges of society. Diagnosed as schizophrenic and shaped by her mother’s long-term institutionalization, Linda’s work draws deeply from personal experience—while also engaging with the cultural history of how we treat the so-called “insane.” Her influences range from medieval manuscripts and Mayan glyphs to Duchamp, Bosch, and Artaud. These shirts are an extension of her studio practice: hand-drawn, screen-printed designs that carry the complexity and tenderness of her larger body of work. Each one is a conversation—about fragmentation, survival, and creative resilience.
