Punaballoo is the colorful brainchild of self-taught artist Angela Sheehan. It all began during the quiet chaos of the Covid pandemic, when Angela decided to paint her beloved succulent, Walter, just for fun. When she showed the finished piece to her husband, he quipped, “Cute. Put ‘succ it’ under there—but spell it like ‘succulent.’” She laughed—and realized he was onto something. That one pun sparked a playful journey. Angela began sharing her whimsical plant and food pun illustrations online, and the positive response encouraged her to keep going. Before long, Punaballoo was born: a vibrant celebration of humor, color, and the joy of the unexpected. From a tiny Etsy shop to bustling local markets and stores across the country, Punaballoo now offers a growing collection of art-forward goods that don’t take themselves too seriously.
