My name is Johnny Perri. I have been in the jewelry business for 23 years. In March our Governor’s coronavirus order forced me to close my shop. My fiancé Amy and I spent the first month of the closure traveling and exploring Michigan. On the morning of April 1st as I was sipping coffee and scrolling through the news an article popped up. It was about the Forrest Fenn treasure and news of his treasure being discovered. It didn’t occur to me at the time that it was an April Fools’ joke. His treasure wasn’t really found, but it was enough to inspire Amy and me. We began burying the treasures from my shop as we traveled the state, and the idea of Johnny’s Treasure Quest was born. We are proud and excited to share our joy of exploring the great outdoors and offer the adventure of a treasure hunt to people of all ages. Yes, we buried the contents of my entire jewelry store, hundreds of thousands of dollars in gold, silver, diamonds & antiques in various locations across the state of Michigan from the bottom of the ‘mitten’ to the Upper Peninsula. Each item we buried has a history and memories attached to it, but we placed them all in the ground for you to discover.
