If you'd like to request more than that, please message me for a custom amount. Jeżyki are handmade holiday ornaments that beautifully blend cultures. They’re a traditional folk art from Poland, made by a refugee from Afghanistan in southern California, USA. How did this blending of cultures come to be? I, Agnieszka (let’s call me the founder), was born in Poland and immigrated to the USA when I was five years old. I learned the craft from my grandpa. In the states, I met Arezo (I call her the maker) while tutoring English through a refugee organization. She expressed the need for work, but was limited to a home-based job and that’s how Jeżyki Shop was born. By purchasing, you’re not only supporting an income for a deserving person who didn't have many job options available to her, but you’re also helping to keep decades-old folk craft alive.
