As pet parents ourselves, we want the best food for our dogs. That’s why we searched high and low for a commercially available low-carb, ketogenic dog food. And you know what? We couldn’t find one. So, we created our own. Dogs have no nutritional need for carbohydrates. So why are ALL dog foods so high in sugar and carbs? The answer is simple... Carbs are cheap. Carbs are easy to manufacture. We were inspired by the work done by our nonprofit, KetoPet, focused on improving canine health through nutrition. Since 2015, KetoPet has rescued dozens of dogs from kill shelters and placed them on a ketogenic diet as a form of cancer therapy. At KetoPet, we found that a low-carb, ketogenic diet could improve outcomes for dogs with cancer and other illnesses and support optimal health and well-being.
