Founded and operated by Sarah MacKenzie—a writer by trade—Crumb La Dote is home to a colourful cast of characters, each small in stature, cute in make—and all harbingers of messages distinct and one-of-a-kind. Crumb La Dote is a design-forward brand that combines original illustration with vintage imagery pulled from sources far and wide. My cards aim to feel handmade and personal. I like: wobbly lines, textured backgrounds, scraggly fonts, crooked frames, shifty smiles, and off-kilter comments. Sometimes I’ll even dabble with a mixed metaphor. It’s titillating.
