Sense-ational You is a female-founded adaptive apparel brand created to support children and adults with autism, ADHD, and sensory sensitivities. Founded by Julia DeNey, a Cornell-trained fashion designer and former special education paraprofessional, the brand was born from her firsthand experience working with autistic students and seeing how traditional clothing caused distress, distraction, and behavioral challenges that often went unnoticed. Combining her design background with her deep understanding of sensory needs, Julia set out to create functional, comfortable garments that reduce overstimulation and help individuals feel calm, confident, and included. Today, Sense-ational You delivers thoughtful innovations—like sound-dampening hoods, tag-free labels, flat seams, gentle compression, magnetic closures, and built-in fidgets—crafted to support regulation, independence, and dignity in everyday environments.
