Chi-Africa, founded in 1999 by Paul Hepworth, has grown from a passion project sparked by a family holiday to South Africa into a company that embodies a lifestyle for many involved. Paul was inspired by South African artists creating sculptures from scrap metal, leading to business links in Zimbabwe and a successful UK flower show debut in 2000. The company expanded, exhibiting at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2004 and supplying garden centers across the UK. After the 2008 financial crash, Paul focused on maintaining ties with Zimbabwean artists. In 2014, sons Joe and Luke took over and rebranded Chi-Africa with the ethos “Recycled. Reused. Reclaimed,” while also expanding their reach and partnerships with major UK clients like The National Trust and RHS. This led to rapid growth and the involvement of over 30 Zimbabwean artists. Chi-Africa is committed to sustainability, offering high-quality sculptures at affordable prices. In the UK, we employ 10 people, providing flexible hours, while in Zimbabwe, we’ve helped artists build homes and secure a stable future for their families. The more we sell, the more we support Zimbabwe’s artists. Thank you for being part of this journey.
