Saalection was founded in 2019 by creative director Salman Al Khalifa and designer Christine Chau. The brand experiments with the relationship between gender and clothing, drawing inspiration from Middle Eastern and East Asian cultures to create timeless staple pieces. The designs emphasise innovative cuts and asymmetrical elements while maintaining a minimal and elegant aesthetic. The inspiration derives from the urban evolution of Bahrain and the founder’s drive from the desert to the capital, Manama. The brand also reflects Salman’s emotional journey as an individual and designer. Saalection products are seasonless, primarily sourced and made in the UK, Portugal and Italy. Saalection adopts a pre-order system with some products pre-made in small quantities to minimise fabric waste.
