I grew up in the high desert of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Left for a while. Ran from home thinking I was running toward something better. You can't outrun yourself. This isn't aspirational spirituality. This is about being human. Tender and tough at the same time, like everything that survives in the desert. Spirit of the Desert is what I create for people walking the path I walked. Recovery from anything. Recovery from everything. The hard, non-linear work of healing. I'm an artist and writer who accidentally became a spiritual guide by surviving things I shouldn't have had to survive. I paint in watercolor because it's unforgiving—you have to surrender to it, trust the process. Like recovery. Everything I make comes from this place: the barren, beautiful, brutal landscape that taught me how to be still. How to find life in impossible conditions. How to embrace my inner chaos gremlin.
