While getting a BA in Art Therapy, Buchholz started seeing the power of taking the unconscious and making it conscious through visual mediums. While earning her degree, Buchholz drew original characters often paired with clever captions. At first, this was a way to express candid thoughts and sincere feelings. After years of posting her illustrations, they gained a following of devoted fans. These illustrations would be the foundation of the brand; creating products and plushies based on their likeness. The subject of her illustrations and handmade plush toys are often inspired by everyday, spontaneous interactions. Connection and friendship are at the heart of her work. Buchholz sews all plushies in her home studio. With an emphasis on simplicity and silliness, her handmade items are all completely unique.
