About Candelae

We are a small candle manufacturer from Eich, Rheinhessen, and make candles from old wine bottles, soy wax and natural essential oils. In 2018, I was looking for unusual Christmas gifts for my family and work colleagues and couldn't find what I was looking for. I wanted something out of the ordinary. And that's when the idea with the candles came up. It was perfect because we live in a wine region and wine simply belongs to Rheinhessen. The special thing about Candelae is the product as a whole. Because there are candles like sand on the sea. I think it's the interplay between the wine bottle and the ingredients. We attach great importance to the natural. We use soy wax and natural essential oils for our scented candles. Even when it comes to candle wicks, we make sure that they do not contain lead and we also make the candle jars ourselves from old wine bottles. Read their story
