About Brouwerij Leeghwater

It was 2012 when Hans, our head brewer, decided to start brewing beer. Local beer with a lot of hops, inspired by the environment where he enjoyed his own beer. Craft beer with a quirky character, brewed in the Land of Leeghwater. It started, as with many hobbies, somewhat amateurishly; every guitarist remembers the blisters from endless practice, every professional footballer initially kicked over the ball. Hans tinkered with a large pot on the fire and a wooden stirring paddle in his hand. Many beers later, the recipes began to develop. The extremes in the brewing process could be explored, and the brewing equipment was continuously improved. The dreams became more realistic, the barrels larger. A group of friends who grew up in the Land of Leeghwater became a close-knit entrepreneurial team that drew inspiration from the Land of Leeghwater: the area, the technology, the nature, and of course, the water. A team that combined their strengths for one common goal: to turn that water into beer. In the summer of 2017, Brouwerij Leeghwater officially became a B.V. Collaborations were established with breweries that had more brewing capacity. Our recipes are currently being brewed on a large scale there. Brouwerij Leeghwater releases beers that are brewed with care and a hefty dose of individuality and vision. Beer from the Land of Leeghwater. And that water is far from running out.Read their story
