While researching eggnog, our chief product developer Kim Weisswange came across an old tradition from the 17th century. In present-day Brazil, European conquerors discovered a drink called ABACATE among the natives of the Amazon. It was made from avocados, cane sugar and rum and is considered a precursor to today's eggnog. This drink did not contain any animal ingredients. We found that very exciting and wanted to breathe new life into this old recipe. We have succeeded in reproducing the old recipe used by the natives and transforming it into a palate-pleasing addition for the people of today. That was the birth of ABACATY avocado spirits.
